Time Perception and Novelty

Have you ever felt that time is moving really quickly, or that it went abnormally slow? (Seriously though, why does the weekend go so quickly?) We often attribute boredom to the slowing of time, and having fun with it speeding up. Studies have attributed our experience of time with dopamine (the neurotransmitter for reward and motivation), and can be heightened with novel experiences. In this video, I explain why this is important for our cognitive health and why at Act and Ascend, we encourage you to try something new.
